Attention Clients,
Please be advised that we will be performing an emergency maintenance tonight on one of our shared servers. Please read the details below. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Server Affected: Chocolate
Time: 9:00pm EST
Reason: Replace backup drive.
Estimated Downtime: 5-10 minutes (High latency may be experienced for a short while when the server gets back online)
We do apologize for the short notice, however, it is imperative that we replace the backup drive within Chocolate as soon as possible so as to not disrupt complete and usable backups.
Please plan accordingly.
UPDATE 10:07pm EST:
The backup drive has been successfully replaced and the server is now online. The load has returned to normal and all sites should now be resolving without error. Backups will continue to run nightly on Chocolate, as well as all servers here at Twenty70.
Happy New Year and Happy Saturday.
As most of you know, BlissDom 2012 is RIGHT around the corner on February 23-25 in Nashville. Unfortunately because my holidays were extremely busy this year and a trip to the ER the day after Christmas with a 103.7 fever, I didn’t have time to plan and launch a full sponsorship giveaway for BlissDom ’12. However, I really want to do something for BlissDom ’12 attendees and I know it’s not much but hey, winning $100 is $100 more than you had. #BrightSide. (Yes, I hash my posts… don’t judge.
)
THIS GIVEAWAY IS OPEN TO CLIENTS AND NON-CLIENTS
Entering this Giveaway is extremely simple. All you have to do is post on your blog about the i.am.blogger promotion and tweet that you entered to win the $100 #BlissDom Extra Cash Giveaway from @Twenty70Hosting. You do not have to endorse Twenty70, obviously you can’t endorse a product or service if you’ve never used it so I would never ask you to do that! Currently this giveaway is only for $100; however, depending on it’s popularity (which only you can decide!) I may add an extra $100 for a second and third winner.

Happy New Year from Twenty70! We hope everyone has a wonderful 2012 and accomplishes everything you set your mind to. We’ve had a great 2.5 years so far and we’re still going strong thanks to our wonderful clients!
We continue to look forward to taking the world by storm in 2012.
Many Thanks and MUCH LOVE!!
You asked, we listened! The i.am.blogger $5/month hosting special is BACK! We thought “What better time to offer discounted hosting than right after you spent a lot of cash on clothes, toys, electronics and other must-haves during the holiday season?!” Start 2012 SAVING money! Transfer your WordPress blog to Twenty70 Hosting.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. As with most low-cost website hosting companies, they advertise a low monthly price but it’s with a multi-year contract. We’re not most companies! This is truly $5 per month, no contract, no strings. Furthermore, you’ll never have to pay for a domain name again because a free domain name is included with i.am.blogger. As long as you host with Twenty70, your domain name is on us.
The i.am.blogger package includes everything you need for your WordPress blog.
i.am.blogger:
Exciting, huh? We’ve also decided we’re also going to give a little somethin’ somethin’ as a THANK YOU to those who refer and spread the word about i.am.blogger.
If you’re a client: For every client you refer to Twenty70, we’ll credit your account $5.00, essentially giving you a free month of hosting. There is no limit! Refer 12 people, you’ve got the year FREE! OR you can choose to put that $5.00 towards a giftcard of your choice! #WIN
Not A Client?: Yes, even non-clients can benefit from i.am.blogger! For every client you refer to Twenty70, you will receive $5.00 towards a giftcard of your choice.
Please feel free to tweet, facebook, or blog about i.am.blogger! We’ve also made up a nice little promotion badge for you to include in your blog post, sidebar, or facebook page.
What are you waiting for? This promotion won’t last long so go take advantage of never having to pay for a domain name again!
i.am.blogger fine print:
i.am.blogger applicable to NEW blogs only. Current clients cannot purchase the i.am.blogger promotional package and transfer an already Twenty70 hosted blog to it. Sorry.
Your domain name will be free as long as you host with Twenty70, if you transfer away from Twenty70 within 9 months of domain purchase/renewal, you will be responsible for the $12.99 purchase price. (I hate to add this but it has been taken advantage of in the past. Fail, right?)
One domain per package, there is no limit to number of packages that can be purchased.
Good evening my friends,
Those clients who are on Chocolate may be experiencing some high latency while visiting your sites tonight. This is because I have been forced to run an FSCK (File System Check) on the back up drive. If this check is not run, then backups will not continue to run at the daily scheduled time and the file system may become compromised. I run daily and monthly backups on every site located on Chocolate and it’s important that all of your sites are properly backed up should the need arise to restore a file or two, or the entire site if need be.
I definitely apologize for the inconvenience, however, current backups are a top priority.
Heya,
What a busy September it has been! The final move of accounts on Vanilla to Chocolate was delayed because I had to fly to Brazil with the husband for some business. The last of the clients on Vanilla have received a a transfer notice to the e-mail account that is on file with Twenty70. The details are below:
Please read the following information carefully as some changes on your end may need to take place. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Date of Transfer: Wednesday October 12, 2011
Time of Transfer: 10:00pm EST
Sites will be transferred in alphabetical order and depending on how large the site is, only takes a few minutes to transfer. Everything will be copied over exactly, no e-mail will be lost.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR DOMAIN REGISTERED WITH TWENTY70 HOSTING, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO UPDATE YOUR DOMAIN NAME SERVERS MANUALLY.
Currently, your domain name servers are:
NS1.twenty70.com/ns2.twenty70.com
They will need to be updated to the following:
NS3.twenty70.com
NS4.twenty70.com
(Do not update your nameservers until the transfer has occurred)
If you would like me to transfer your site before October 12, 2011 and at your convenience, just let me know which time and date will be best for you and I will be sure to transfer your site at that time.
No downtime should occur.
Again, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I also thank you all very much for your patience during this process and for your patronage.

Today and for the rest of the week I will be moving accounts from the server ‘Vanilla’ to the server ‘Chocolate’. While *most* of you won’t notice a thing, some of you may see a “Website Moved” page. This simply means that your computer still has the old DNS cached and once that cache updates, the page will go away.
Why the move? Well, Vanilla is about 4 years old and she’s ready to retire. There has been problems with her almost monthly with MySQL database errors and those will now be eliminated.
What do you need to do? If your domain is registered through Twenty70 Hosting, then I’ve updated your domain DNS information for you. Once the DNS changes propagate around the world (which doesn’t take but a few minutes these days) all visitors will be viewing the site on the newest server. If you’re still having trouble viewing the site, then the old DNS information is still cached. You can either wait for the cache to update, unplug your modem for a few seconds (my preferred method :-\ ) or follow the steps below:
If your domain is NOT with Twenty70 Hosting, you will receive an e-mail from me regarding the transfer of your domain.
Clearing Cache:
ipconfig /flushdns
dscacheutil -flushcacheIf you have any questions at all, please log in to your client dashboard and submit a ticket. I will be happy to help in anyway I can.
Upgrading to the latest version is easy! Simply follow these few steps and it can be done automatically.
Step 1: When logged in to your WordPress administration panel, you will see a notice at the top if you need to upgrade. Simply click “Please update now.”. (It is very important you keep your WordPress installation up-to-date! Updates not only add new features but fix security issues. If left out-dated, you’re leaving your blog wide open for attacks.)
Step 2: Select Update Automatically
Step 3: Success, You’re done! Select Go To Dashboard!
We finally have our website back.
Hope you like it. You’ll also notice that the Client Dashboard is different as well, it looks much less plain than it did before! High Five! Be sure to check back here for continued updates or subscribe to our RSS feed. We would greatly appreciate it.
Many Thanks,
Kelly
